## Lesson 3A
**AUDIO TRACK 1**
(1) Hello. Open your Language Laboratory Activities booklet to Lesson 3A. (pause 6 sec)
(2) Go to Figure 1. Look at the pictures. Repeat the words and the sentences that you hear. (pause for repetition)
Picture A: brake...brake
Jim is having problems with his brakes.
Picture B: engine...engine
Henry's new truck has a big engine.
Picture C: motor...motor
This car has a small motor.
Picture D: stall...stall
Jill's car stalled two times / on the way to work.
Picture E: tune-up...tune-up
Kevin's car needed a tune-up / after he drove it ten thousand miles.
Picture F: oil...oil
My car needs a quart of oil.
Picture G: noise...noise
That car is making a lot of noise.
Picture H: warm up...warm up
Bobby, please warm up the car.

(4) Now check your answers and repeat the sentences.

voice 2: Do you think he'll let us ride in it?
(6) Listen to the conversation again.

Now write a sentence that answers the question.
(7) The answer is: He has an expensive new car.
(8) Listen to the second dialog.

voice 1: They're moving to Florida.
voice 2: They're going to have a lot of warm weather.
