WHAT DO WE USE A COMB FOR?
The instructor will say a word. One student will ask a question and another student will answer like the example.

UNDERSTAND...UNDERSTOOD
Listen to a question. Answer with the correct form of the word.
EXAMPLE: I: Did you understand the problem? S: Yes, I understood it.
OTHER
The instructor will say statements. Then you say a sentence using other and the words on the chalkboard. Some answers need also.
EXAMPLES: I: Jan drew two shapes. One was a circle. square S: The other was a square.
I: The house has two bathrooms. One is small. small S: The other bathroom is also small.
COMPARE.
The instructor will tell you two things to compare.
EXAMPLE: I: Compare a triangle with a rectangle. S: A triangle has three sides and a rectangle has four sides.
RELATED WORDS
You will hear a word. Say a word that is related to it.
EXAMPLE: I: kitchen S: refrigerator

Ask and answer questions with look like. Look at the words below for ideas.

Get a piece of paper, or use the next blank page.

Draw two lines to divide the paper into four equal parts. Draw one line from the top to the bottom of the paper. Draw the second line in the middle of the paper from the left side to the right.

Write number 1 in the top left part. Then, draw a circle. Draw a straight line above the circle from the left side to the right side. Draw a straight line below the circle from the left side to the right side.

Write number 2 in the top right part. Then, draw a small triangle. Next to it, draw a small square. Next to that, draw a larger square.

Write number 3 in the bottom left part. Then, draw a rectangle in the center. Below the rectangle, draw a small circle in the center of the bottom line. It will touch the rectangle. Draw a second circle above the rectangle. Put it in the center of the top line. Let it touch the rectangle. Draw two more circles, one next to the right side and one next to the left side of the rectangle. Let them touch the rectangle, too.

Write number 4 in the bottom right part. Then, draw a big circle. Inside this circle draw a smaller circle. Inside this circle draw a small square.

One person will tell another person to do something. Look at the example.

Draw a shape on the chalkboard. Then ask another student what the shape is called.
EXAMPLE: S1: (draws a triangle on the chalkboard) What's this called?
S2: It's called a triangle. (draws another shape on the chalkboard and asks what it's called)
