(1) Hi! Open your booklet to the activities for Lesson 4B. (pause 5 sec)
(2) Look at Figure 1. Listen and read the two sentences, then combine them. Repeat the correct answer. Listen to the example.

Number 1: He can get to work on time. Repeat: He's sure he can get to work on time.
Number 2: He has a new car. Repeat: He's glad that he has a new car.
Number 3: His brother wants to borrow it. Repeat: He's upset that his brother wants to borrow it.
Number 4: He didn't buy a new car last year. Repeat: He's sorry that he didn't buy a new car last year.
Number 5: His wife likes it. Repeat: He's pleased that his wife likes it.
Number 6: His wife wants the new car. Repeat: He's angry that his wife wants the new car.

(12) Now go to Figure 8. Listen to a paragraph and write the topic on the line. You will hear the paragraph two times.
Most banks have two kinds of accounts: a savings account and a checking account. We use a checking account like cash. Most stores accept checks with some identification, and it is much easier to take a checkbook to the store than a bag of money. A savings account helps people save their money.
