(11) Look at Figure 5 and listen to the sentences about the dialogs. Circle "T" if the sentence is true. Circle "F" if it is false. (pause 6 sec between items)

Number 1: Mrs. Green wants to make a regular appointment.

Number 3: The doctor is Mike's patient.

Number 4: The doctor will meet Mike at the emergency room.

Number 5: Mrs. Green can drive to the hospital in half an hour.

(12) Now check your answers.

Number 1 is false. Mrs. Green doesn't want to make a regular appointment. Repeat: This is an emergency.

Number 2 is true. Repeat: Mike needs to see the doctor right away.

Number 3 is false. The doctor isn't Mike's patient. Repeat: Mike is Dr. Paine's patient.

Number 4 is true. Repeat: The doctor will meet Mike at the emergency room.

Number 5 is false. It won't take Mrs. Green half an hour to get to the hospital. Repeat: She can get there in ten minutes.

Read both forms now. (pause 30 sec) Now look at the forms and answer some questions about Beth. (pause 5 sec after each question)

Number 1: Is Beth's last name still Davis? (pause 5 sec) No, it's not. Beth is married now, and her last name is different. Repeat: Her last name isn't Davis any longer.

Number 2: Is Beth's age still the same? No, it's not. She's twenty-eight now. Repeat: She's not twenty-three anymore.

Number 3: Does she live on State Street any longer? No, she doesn't. She lives on Waterside Street now. Repeat: She doesn't live on State Street any longer.

Number 4: Does Beth still live in Bay City? Yes, she does. Repeat: She still lives in Bay City.

Number 5: Is her telephone number still the same? No, it's different. Repeat: Her phone number isn't the same anymore.
