### INTRODUCTIONS
These are some rules for polite introductions. In the United States most people shake hands when they meet others for the first time. Women don't always shake hands with other women. When they are sitting, men usually stand up for introductions. Women don't have to stand, but most women do stand when they meet older people or people of higher rank. Remember the following rules when you make introductions.
1. **Introduce men to women.**
Introduce the man to the woman. Speak to and look at the woman first. Tell her the man's complete name. Then tell the man the woman's complete name.

Repeat the dialog. Then read it.
David: Hello, John. I'd like you to meet a friend of mine. Jane, this is John Green. John, Jane Woods.

He has a large collection of these interesting articles. They're fun to read.
