### Figure 4
**Answer the questions.**
June 5, 1988
Dear Jane:
I couldn't go to your party last weekend because I had to work late on Sunday. Usually, I'm finished at the store by 5:30, but last weekend I had a lot of extra work. I couldn't leave the store until 8 PM. By that time, I was very tired and hungry. I tried to buy a sandwich, but I couldn't find a sandwich vending machine. Finally I stopped looking. I went home without supper. After I got home and changed clothes, it was very late. I know you had a good party. I'm sorry I didn't go.
I won't have to go to work on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. I can go to a restaurant and a movie on Tuesday. Would you like to do that? Call me on Monday.
Your friend,
Frank.

Mrs. Wright is my neighbor. We live in the same apartment building. She lives alone. Sometimes, I take her shopping. I help her with her packages. We live upstairs and it's hard to take packages up the stairs. She says that I am a very polite person. The other day, I wrote down my phone number on some paper.
